Foundation of the “Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e. V.”
1969
The foundation of the “Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e. V.” is the response of the business community to pressing socio-political issues. To this day, bbw is committed to a social policy that promotes the civic, social, economic and vocational education of young and adult citizens in the spirit of a liberal, socially committed economic and society.
Foundation of the “bbw – Berufliche Fortbildungszentren e. V.”
1983
The programmes offered by bbw counteract the increasing unemployment at the beginning of the 1980s. “Learning in the workplace”, the practical vocational year for young people and personal support are concepts that achieve great success in (re-)integrating young people into the labour market.
First international cooperations
1987
The MAM (Management Academy Munich, founded in 1971) starts a cooperation with the “Shanghai Industrial Management Training Center”.
Foundation of Shanghai-Bavarian Vocational Training and Consulting Ltd.
2002
In 2002, the first foreign-registered company of the bbw Group was founded in Shanghai, PR China.
GOL Brasil - Project for Youth
2006
The Bavarian State Chancellery supported the GOL (“Goal”) Brazil project for the first time in the context of the World Cup: Placement for young people in vocational training
First project after the "Arab Spring Movement"
2012
The first vocational training project in Tunisia was launched back in 2012 in close cooperation with companies such as Dräxlmaier, Leoni, and Marquardt. Since then, more than a dozen projects have been implemented there.
Caareer guidance program in Western Africa-Senegal
2018
In Senegal, West Africa, for the first time a national Ministry of Education has begun introducing career guidance based on the bfz/bbw concepts.
Going-Live of the multi-language Online Training Platform "hub4africa"
2022
With funding from the Bavarian State Chancellery, work began in 2022 on setting up the digital learning and information platform “hub4africa.” This six-language platform offers more than 500 free self-study modules and is the most widely used multilingual platform of its kind worldwide.
