A vocational preparation programme for young people in Bavaria was adapted by the International Division of bbw to the conditions in Brazil. Young people from favelas, who lack sustainable career prospects, are supported in finding their way into the labour market. Their competencies are assessed through special testing series, and suitable candidates are placed in apprenticeships and jobs. The training and job positions are acquired in advance by the project team and are adjusted to meet the quality standards of European training companies.

Finding young talent for companies

Approximately 250,000 young people in the partner region of São Paulo are outside the school system, without qualifications and unemployed. Renowned German companies such as Volkswagen, Siemens, Schaeffler, Mahle, Linde, and Bosch, as well as Brazilian companies like Sys (brakes), Drogasil (pharmaceuticals), and Santos (port management), are interested in finding talented and motivated young professionals. The project builds a bridge between the young people and the companies. Recently, the project has also been cooperating with public secondary schools in socially disadvantaged areas of São Paulo.
