GREEN CITIZEN ENERGY – VET4AFRICA

The "Green Citizen Energy" programme offers "Train the Trainer" courses in Germany for African teachers on renewable energy. Through modular training, participants learn how to construct and plan photovoltaic systems. The aim is for them to pass on this knowledge in their home countries.

Sustainable energy strategy for the future

This image shows the main teachers involved in the mentoring program for African vocational school teachers. They guide and support their colleagues to effectively pass on knowledge about renewable energy.

The project provided African teachers with in-depth knowledge of photovoltaics – with support from experienced trainers from Germany.

Together, they demonstrate how solar energy can be efficiently used to provide a better future for local communities.

This initiative is supported by the BMZ's "Green Citizen Energy for Africa" programme and backed by Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

Multiply knowledge and create lasting change

Here, the trainers and teachers are shown who completed a two-week intensive training in Wilpoldsried. Their goal is to act as mentors in Africa and pass on their knowledge about sustainable energy supply.

The local teachers and trainers share the knowledge they have gained not only with their colleagues but also with their students. Their goal is to inspire as many people as possible about sustainable energy and train them accordingly.

By carrying out local projects, they strengthen education and provide the communities with access to affordable, renewable energy. This offers a real opportunity for a sustainable and independent energy supply.
