Stronger training in Tunisia's construction sector

Two people are sitting at a table in a seminar room, working together. On the table are a large sheet of paper with handwritten notes, pens and a smartphone. In the background, other participants are sitting at round tables and discussing matters.

Four vocational training centres are offering short, practical training courses for young job seekers. Schools in Enfidha, Kairouan, Gabès and Tataouine are introducing partial qualifications that are directly tailored to the needs of the construction sector.

Teachers are improving their training, companies are contributing their experience, and social education programmes are helping young people get started in their careers.

Working together towards sustainable construction

A group of around 25–30 people are posing for a group photo in a room with wooden panelling. The people are standing and sitting in several rows for the group photo.

The bbw is working within the framework of a vocational training partnership (BBP) with Tunisian partners from the (vocational) education sector MEFP, ATFP, ANETI and the construction association. Together, they are developing new content on topics such as energy efficiency, resource-saving materials and modern building materials. Local working groups bring together schools, employment agencies and companies.

Study trips, technical and educational training courses and regular exchange formats are modernising training and opening up better career prospects for young people.
