The exchange of knowledge helps to overcome challenges

bbw sends experts in organic farming, organisational development, and the marketing of organic products. When it comes to food production, soil protection, water quality, and circular economy are key to maintaining soil fertility.

In addition to modern biodynamic farming methods, the quality for the Egyptian market and exports is ensured through the promotion of competent certification bodies. bbw is also involved in Germany in the inspection of organic farms.

Agriculture is an important factor in employment

Approximately 20 million people, or one third of the Egyptian population, work directly in agriculture. It is the third-largest production sector in the Egyptian economy and continues to grow.

Organic products generate around twice the revenue of comparable products from conventional agriculture. This additional revenue clearly compensates for the lower yield. Consequently, organic farms in Egypt earn more than conventional farms.
