Economy of Love

Date palms at the SEKEM Farm

The “Economy of Love” standard is an innovative approach that promotes sustainable development by integrating social, ecological, and economic responsibility.

The goal is to create a balance between humans and nature through holistic methods such as regenerative agriculture and fair trade practices. Inspired by SEKEM, a pioneering initiative in Egypt, the EoL Standard is based on holistic principles and, through its vision, promotes a regenerative economy that strengthens communities and drives the global shift towards sustainable business practices.

A holistic approach for Egyptian farmers

The project supports the implementation of the EoL standard for CO₂ storage, methane reduction, and increased resilience of farmers. Partner organizations such as EBDA and the Carbon Footprint Center, as well as clients like BMZ, are promoting this development.

Initial results show increased CO₂ storage and improved living conditions for farmers. Innovative approaches, such as trading EoL credits on the stock exchange, also offer farmers opportunities to globally network sustainable concepts.
