VOCATIONAL EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP IN SERBIA

Since January 2023, the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) gGmbH has been implementing a vocational education partnership in Serbia on behalf of the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ). The goal is to establish modern dual vocational training in the metal and electrical sectors at vocational schools in Zrenjanin and Nov.

A pioneering model project

The image shows the training workshop of Dräxlmaier from a bird's-eye view during the open house day. Potential apprentices, mainly young people, are visiting the company and gathering information on-site.

In this project, the bbw supports the introduction of dual vocational training in two model regions, which are intended to serve as best-practice examples for all of Serbia. In these regions, the training is practice-oriented and tailored to the needs of local businesses.

The learning locations – both in vocational schools and within companies – ensure a close integration of theory and practice, which is essential for providing a solid and future-proof education.

Marketing strategies to enhance the appeal of dual vocational training

The image shows a classroom in an elementary school in Zrenjanin. Zagorka Markovic (bbw gGmbH) and Predrag Stankov (Director of the Chamber of Commerce Zrenjanin) are informing a group of young people about career opportunities in vocational education.

To make dual vocational training more attractive for both companies and apprentices, a series of targeted marketing measures are being implemented: These include audience-specific information campaigns, involving parents, networking between companies and schools, as well as company promotion and success stories.

In this way, the bbw not only enhances the competitiveness of Serbian businesses through skilled labor retention, but also strengthens the career prospects of the younger generation.
