Lebanon: Successful start oft project BINA in Baalbeck

In the Vocational Training Partnership Program bfz supports disadvantaged youths in Lebanon at job preparation and job placement in the local labor market. The cooperation happens with the local Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) in Baalbeck. The project is carried out in cooperation with sequa and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) under the Vocational Training Partnership Program.

On November 1, 2019 project BINA Lebanon was launched – and runs since then with great success. The BINA program, which has already been successfully implemented by bfz in numerous countries, determines initially the students’ competence during a career orientation phase by carrying out profiling workshops. In previous projects 840 adolescents were trained and for 183 of them jobs were found. Based on the results of the profiling process youths may choose afterwards a career preparation course in five occupational fields.

After having completed the course successfully the participants will finally be supported on entering the local labor market. The aim is to get further training at a local company or full-time employment. By project BINA Lebanon a total of 1000 disadvantaged young people are supposed to receive a career preparation course by October 31, 2022.
