Delegation from Honduras learns about vocational training in Bavaria

A delegation from Honduras visited Bavaria to familiarise themselves with the German vocational training system. The trip took them to a variety of institutions and offered valuable insights and networking opportunities.

A group of around 20 people, mainly women, from Honduras are standing in a car dealership. They are wearing formal clothes and carrying red bags with the ‘bbw’ logo. An image of togetherness and representation.

As part of the vocational training partnership between bbw and eight local chambers of industry and commerce in Honduras – including the umbrella organisation of the Honduran chambers of industry and commerce FEDECAMARA – a delegation of 15 people visited Bavaria. Under the direction of bbw project manager Angie Dröber, the trip took the Hondurans to the Hof employment agency, local companies active in dual training, the training centre of the Upper Franconia Chamber of Crafts, the state vocational school and the bfz in Hof and Bamberg, the MakerSpace high-tech workshop of the start-up centre at Hof University of Applied Sciences and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Bayreuth. The aim was to find out about the German system of vocational orientation, vocational training, further vocational training and job placement and to familiarise themselves with the various players and their spheres of activity. The network of participating Honduran chambers offers vocational training and job placement services in line with regional needs in Honduras and aims to further expand and improve these services as part of the existing project.

The delegation consisted of the managing directors of the individual chambers and the respective specialists for further training and job placement. The varied programme offered many opportunities to exchange ideas with each other and with the German experts on site and provided valuable insights into practice-oriented vocational training in Germany.

“The delegation was delighted with the opportunity for networking and further training, thanked everyone for their hospitality and took home interesting information and impressions,” says Angie Dröber, Project Manager at bbw gGmbH.
