Online Seminars 2021 hosted by bbw

Experts and managers from emerging and developing countries are given the opportunity to exchange ideas online with Bavarian company representatives from their industry.

In the second difficult year overcast by the Covid pandemic, bbw again succeeds in recruiting numerous Bavarian companies to pass on their know-how to foreign professional colleagues and interested experts in the industry and to establish contacts in various countries. Due to general travel restrictions, eleven technical  seminars were held virtually, with the Bavarian companies/institutions each being introduced with a video - often shot by bbw - and a presentation. In addition, a company representative was present live at each event alongside the bbw organisational team to answer questions from the foreign participants and to exchange ideas directly with them.

Every year, the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy or the Bavarian State Chancellery finances so-called technical seminars for the exchange of knowledge and experience among Bavarian and foreign experts from various sectors; the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) conducts many of these technical seminars on behalf of the Ministry. Before the pandemic, groups of experts were invited to Bavaria for one week and accompanied by bbw to selected companies. The delegates were able to get to know Bavarian state-of-the-art technology and establish initial business contacts.

In order to maintain and develop the numerous existing contacts during the pandemic, bbw designed easily accessible online formats and was thus able to welcome 13 countries and provide contacts and information in seven different topics. Experts from Angola, Brazil, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, Morocco, Mexico, Mongolia, Mozambique, Panama, Sri Lanka and Tanzania learned about the following topics: Waste Management, Sustainable Tourism, Regional Development with Innovative Networks, Efficient Water and Wastewater Management, Sustainable Energy Production, Energy Efficient Construction and Organic Agriculture. We hope to be able to hold face-to-face seminars again this year in addition to the virtual ones.
