49 Tunisians start their qualification in the construction sector

At two of the six locations of the “German-Tunisian Crafts Schools”, the first part of the qualification of four professions in the construction sector have started. At these locations, young Tunisians can now qualify as systems mechanics, masons, tilers or carpenters. After six months, they will acquire a certificate.

49 young Tunisians have started a module concering their qualification in one of the four fields. The content of the qualification has been developed according to the German qualification standards in collaboration with experts of bfz Mid-West Franconia and Tunisia. The project aims at offering the young Tunisians job perspectives at construction sites and get them into work. The event has been attended by representatives of the Tunisian agency for education and the ministry of education.

At Ben Arous, German ambassador Peter Prügel gave a speech during the celebration. Afterwards, all participants received a helmet and a t-shirt as a symbol for their start of the qualification. By the end of April, classes at four other locations in the south of Tunisia will start their qualification according to the project.
