Setup and consolidation of a dual vocational training system in Northern Macedonia

Setup and consolidation of a dual vocational training system in Northern Macedonia

In order to improve vocational education with the help of demand-oriented contents and the use of contemporary and practical learning techniques, bbw realises a project in the field of mechatronics.

Within the frame of the project, bbw is cooperating with three vocational schools and the sites of the automotive supplier Dräxlmaier in Kumanovo and Kavadarci. After an analysis of the technical frame of the vocational training as well as the equipment of the schools‘ workshops, the project aims at inforcing the workspace-oriented vocational training within three job profiles. Furthermore, excitement for the dual vocational training should be raised concerning adolescents and corporations. For the jobs of industrial mechatronics engineers, electricians for power engineering and electricians für computer technology, dual vocational roadmaps are available.

Promotion of work-oriented dual vocational training with the help of bbw

Regarding the dual vocational training, Macedonia shows high interest in this type of projects, which have been initialised within the frame of the „Berlin-Process“ by Germany. However, the number of practial working hours during the vocational training is too low. Further more, vocational training itself does not own a positive reputation due to the lack of quality and mediation of training contents on the one handside. On the other handside, educated specialists are missing in the corporations.

After an inital requirements analysis and alignment with other players, activities like training courses in the field of technique, methods and didactics for vocational trainers and teachers are being planned. Furthermore, different types of public events are being held in order to aquire more local coporations for the dual vocational training. The development of a digital assistance for the realisation of the work-oriented vocational training will help making the the project more sustainable.

The collective events and training course contribute to the fact that the local players of vocational education are more connected and enable an exchange regarding aims, requirements and the possibilities for further development.
