DEL Turismo: Local Development through Sustainability
Since November 2024, Rede Destinos Sustentáveis has entered its second phase. The project strengthens local organizations across Brazil to develop socially and ecologically responsible tourism that benefits local communities. German partners like the Bavarian Forest National Park contribute valuable expertise.
Junior Ranger: Education as a Bridge

The Bavarian Forest National Park contributes through its Junior Ranger program, which inspires children to connect with nature and engage in conservation. In September 2025, park representatives reaffirmed their commitment to introducing the concept in Brazilian protected areas.
Shared Experiences: From Resistance to Acceptance

Like in Brazil, the creation of the Bavarian Forest National Park initially faced local resistance. Over time, environmental education, community involvement, and new income opportunities through tourism helped build acceptance. This experience highlights the importance of engaging local communities. This cooperation combines protected area management, education, and sustainable tourism. It demonstrates how global challenges can be addressed through collaboration and shared commitment.
