UREPP / Bina Uganda convinces visitors

UREPP / Bina Uganda convinces visitors

Between September 5 and 7, 2022, a representative of the German Embassy Kampala and BMZ - Mr. David Löw - visited the Uganda Refugee Employment Promotion Project (UREPP) at the Hoima site, near Lake Albert.

There, bbw together with the local partner St. Simon Peter's VTC is promoting vocational training for labour market integration of young people from Uganda and the refugee settlements Kyangwali and Kiryandongo.

During the visit, Mr. Löw was able to see and feel the impact UREPP has on the lives of the course participants. After visiting the training workshops, Mr. Löw talked to both current and former students to learn more about their backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. Especially in the exchange with representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister, responsible for all refugee matters in Uganda, the importance of the project for the young people themselves, but also for their social environment, became even more evident.

The impressions gained during the short visit convinced Mr. Löw so that his feedback was very positive. Not only because UREPP, according to him, has the "best restaurant in Hoima", but because the efficiency and effectiveness of the Bina approach in training and job placement of young people is visible as a clear success factor.
