Training course in Wildpoldsried: "Digitisation of course content"

The challenges of the pandemic had to be responded to quickly, effectively and yet close to people. The VET4Africa project, part of the "Green Citizen Energy" programme, has adapted in a promising way. In order to support the multipliers trained in 2018 and 2019 during corona-related restrictions, bbw has digitised individual, particularly suitable teaching sequences on the topic of photovoltaics. The digital teaching offer provides guidance for independent, practical action and creates added didactic value.

In July and October, after a long corona break, courses of the VET4Africa project (Vocational Education and Training for Africa) of the "Green Citizen Energy" initiative were finally held again at the Ecological Education Centre in Wildpoldsried/Allgäu. Together with the Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) gGmbH, 15 vocational school teachers and other experts met to digitise the contents of the previous courses. The aim of the trainers from German vocational schools is to support African colleagues in the fields of photovoltaics and renewable energies and to show how modern technology can be used to make the sun's energy available to everyone. With the help of new media, the contents can be used for training purposes on site and the knowledge can be passed on via the multipliers. The digital teaching offer will be provided by the end of 2020 in the Learning Management System "Moodle" and partly also by the YouTube Chanel VET4Africa.

The overall organisation and coordination will be carried out by the municipality of Wildpoldsried, represented by the second mayor of the municipality, Mr. Günter Mögele, Director of Studies and member of the Executive Board of the Staatliche Berufsschule I in Kempten in cooperation with bbw International. The project is funded by the BMZ through GIZ. For further information see: www.VET4Africa.com
